Synopsis

A teenager, PAULINE, has been detained in the clinic facility in the suburb of Fribourgtreat her anorexia. Her grandma, ROSE, visits her in her sick room despite that she is not supposed to allow to see her. Pauline knew the story about once a star football player on Rose's team. When the player was addicted to the drug, she traveled to the Philippine island called Siargao, and she turned mentally and physically sound. Pauline made her decision to take her last chance to change herself by being released from the pain and anguish in her heart, and she asked Rose for all the arrangements to travel to Siargao. The very next day after her escape from the clinic, she departs to the unknown island of Siargao alone. As both Pauline and Rosespend their own time, being healed from the pain in their hearts, they finally encounter each other, which makes Pauline furious, and Rose joins them, adding fuel to the fire. Watching over the situation, Jacklyn, the family owner of the guesthouse keeps interacting with three Swiss women with pure and thoughtful souls, and Pauline, Julia, and Rose start realizing their selfishness - finding true love as a family.

Director's Biography

Après uneformation d'électrotechnicien et unepassion pour la danse (hip-hop etmoderne jazz) le chant et le cinéma, SlonySow se lance dans la comédie. Il passepar le Studio Pygmalion pour y entamerune formation "acteur studio" en parallèlede la chanson avec Jean Michel Rivat et Michel Delpech. Il monte avec Thierry Godard etCartouche une troupe - Les Improbables, pour laquelle il écrit en grande partie les sketches.Slony se plaît à l'exercice et découvre le monde du spectacle, il passe assez rapidement dedevant à derrière la caméra notamment pour Jean Dujardin et Arsen Mosca. Durant cettepériode, il réalise ses premiers courts métrage (L'HOMME DE LA BOÎTE en 2004, PÉRIPHÉRIQUEBLUES en 2006) et rencontre une première fois Gérard Depardieu, qu'il fait tourner dans le courtmétrage GRENOUILLES D'HIVER en 2011), sélectionné dans plus de 350 festivals - dont Cannes -oú il obtient 33 rècompenses. En 2014, il réalise son premier long-métrage, PARISIENNES, qui faitune nouvelle fois se mêler les cultures japonaises et françaises. C'est en mai 2023 que sortUMAMI, son second long-métrage, tourné en grande partie au Japon et aussi en France (enAnjou), avec Gérard Depardieu, Sandrine Bonnaire, Pierre Richard et Bastien Bouillon et ce sansoublier les stars japonaises telles que Kyoko Koizumi, Akira Emoto et Kyozo Nagatsuka.
